How to use Label Maker to make Image + Text Labels with Google Docs

1. Open a blank document in Google Docs

   Open a new Google Doc and leave it blank. You'll use this document to create and print labels.

1. Open Label Maker

In Google Docs, click on the "Extensions" menu, then select "Label Maker". If you haven't installed Label Maker yet, click here to install it. After it's installed, reload the Google Doc by closing it and reopening it.

1. Select A Template

Within the Label Maker sidebar pop-up, click on "Select a template", then select the template that you need. You can use the search bar to search by template ID or name. There are over 3,000 templates from Avery® US Letter, Avery® A4, Avery® Zweckform, Sheetlabels.com, OnlineLabels.com and Herma.

1. Edit the Document

In the document's first cell, insert your desired text and apply formatting. This initial cell will serve as a template, automatically replicating across all other labels.

1. Replicate the first cell and Create labels

Click on the "Create Labels" button to create a new document with a full sheet of labels replicated from the first label. If you don't want to replicate the first cell, just check the box "Design each label separately" to design each individual label.

1. Open the New Document

Click on "Open Document" to check out new newly created labels.

1. Preview Before Printing

Make sure that your labels look as you expected them to. If you need to make any changes, go back to the previous document to make your changes and then click on "Create Labels" to create another document of labels.

1. Print Labels

Once you've prepared your document and confirmed the label layout, follow these steps to print:

1. Click "File" > "Print"

2. In the print dialog:

   • Set margins to "None"

   • Set scale to 100%

   • Adjust page size if necessary

Note: The page size may need to match your label product. For instance, Avery® US Letter 5160 labels require "Letter" size.
